Isle of Muck

Add to List

Introduction

At only about 2 miles by 1 mile the Isle of Muck is the smallest of the Small Isles. You can take a day trip and see a lot of the island in the couple of hours between ferries or choose to stay overnight to give you the chance to take in the whole island. The scenery, walks and wildlife are well worth exploring although note that all your exploring will be on foot as you can’t take your car. Look out for golden and sea eagles, climb its highest hill, Beinn Airein (449 ft), enjoy its beautiful beach at Camus Mòr or look out for some hidden gems as you walk around the island. There is a Café/Restaurant however no shop so if you plan to stay on the island bring food with you. There are ferries from both Arisaig & Mallaig. Both of these are well signposted from Fort William. If you have your own yacht you will find safe anchorage at Gallanach and Port Mor.
