Barry Fish

Chef Barry Bryson's first restaurant, on the Shore at Leith, with a menu of Scottish fish and shellfish that changes every month.

Welcome

Barry is a Scots word for good, and Barry Fish lives up to its name.

It's the first restaurant of chef Barry Bryson, opened on the Shore at Leith in 2025 and taken into the Michelin Guide soon after. The menu is mostly fish and shellfish, sourced direct from Scotland, with a few dishes for anyone who would rather not have fish, a carefully chosen wine list, cocktails and local beers. The à la carte changes every month, so there's always something new to try, and the room is warm and easy, with no formality beyond the respect the kitchen has for what it does. The Good Food Guide named it one of Britain's best local restaurants for 2026. Dinner is served from Tuesday to Saturday, and on Friday and Saturday there's a set lunch at £25 for two courses or £33 for three. Booking is advised, walk-ins are welcome when there's room, and younger diners are welcome too.
