Edinburgh, Leith

Teuchter's Landing

Add to List

Introduction

This Leith based bar is located in the former waiting room for the steamboat ferry from Leith to Aberdeen. It overlooks the beautiful Water of Leith. Teuchters is the lowland Scots word for a highlander, and the name ‘Teuchters Landing’ is used because Aberdonians used to arrive here on the ferry. Not surprisingly, there is a nautical theme both to their décor and their food menu. Aside from their delicious seafood dishes, there is classic Scottish fare such as haggis, neeps and tatties and Cullen skink. They famously serve many of their dishes in a mug. Their Scotch whisky collection comprises over one hundred bottles. In addition to the Leith bar, they also have an outpost in Edinburgh’s west end, a hair’s breath away from Princess street.
