Ardfern
An all-day cafe, bar and bottle shop on Bonnington Road in Leith, with brunch, small plates, over 100 wines and a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide.
There's something lovely about a local place that gets it right from the first coffee of the morning to the last glass of wine at night, and Ardfern in Leith is one of the best.
It's an all-day cafe, bar and bottle shop on Bonnington Road, from chef Roberta Hall-McCarron and the team behind The Little Chartroom next door and eleanore on Leith Walk. Come in the morning for brunch: a full breakfast with venison sausage and lamb haggis, brioche buns filled just as you like them, and grilled sourdough with spiced plum jam. In the evening it turns to small plates, oysters, a double smash burger and a list of over 100 wines to drink in or take home. On Sundays there's a roast from 10am. It holds a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide, and some tables and all of the bar stools are kept for walk-ins, so it's an easy one to drop into on a whim. Dogs are welcome too.

Open every day from 9am, until late from Monday to Saturday and until 7pm on Sunday.
Brunch runs through the morning and evening plates from 5pm. Book through its own site, or walk in: some tables and all the bar stools are kept free.
