Welcome

On Great Junction Street in Leith, a wide dark shopfront with the name tbco lettered on the glass is the first shop of the Tartan Blanket Co., a Leith business founded in 2014 by a husband and wife, Fergus and Emma Macdonald.

For its first years it sold only online, and in June 2022 it opened this shop in a renovated studio beside its offices.

The blankets are what made its name, in tartans and checks, some made from recycled wool, alongside lambswool scarves, cushions, cotton pyjamas and soft things for babies and pets. The shop is bright and calm, set out like a room at home, with throws folded over a leather sofa and clothes on rails by the window, and it holds a selection of the full range.

TBCo opens every day, a few minutes' walk from the foot of Leith Walk.
