Welcome

Krema Bakehouse brings a taste of Greece to the foot of Leith Walk.

It opened in March 2022, after nearly two years of searching for the right spot, and its bakes draw on the owners' Greek roots and their family's pastry shop back home, mixed with modern patisserie. The counter changes every week and with the seasons, from soft morning buns, cinnamon and pistachio among them, to fudgy brownies, brioche, macarons and stuffed cookies, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free choices. Don't leave without trying the portokalopita, a Greek orange pie made to a family recipe and the house favourite. There's velvety soft-serve ice cream too, in a cup or a cone or on top of a bake, and coffee, Freddos, matcha and fresh juices to go with it. Krema also makes bespoke cakes for birthdays and weddings, ordered by email. The window looks straight out onto Leith Walk, and it's open every day of the week.
