The Gate Lodge stands at the gate of Kingairloch House, on the Morvern side of Loch Linnhe, and it’s built of cut granite.

It sits at the head of Loch a’ Choire, and the estate counts its view among the finest it has: Castle Stalker, the Argyllshire hills and the glens and hills of Kingairloch can all be seen from it, and from the windows you look out across a field to the water.

Downstairs there’s a large lounge with a wood-burning stove and comfortable sofas, a kitchen with a dishwasher, a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer for muddy days, and a shower room, with central heating and underfloor heating. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with loch views, a double and a twin, and a large bathroom with a bath and a separate shower; it adjoins the double bedroom, with a second door so guests in the twin room can reach it. The garden is ringed by iron railings, with a patio and outdoor furniture, there’s plenty of parking, and red deer, otters and pine martens are all about. Up to two dogs are welcome.

There’s a wood-burning stove, central heating with underfloor heating downstairs, a kitchen with a dishwasher, electric oven and hob, microwave and tall fridge freezer, a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, a bath and separate shower upstairs and a shower room downstairs, and Wi-Fi, a TV with a DVD player, linen and towels all provided.

Where it is

The Gate Lodge is at the gate of Kingairloch House on the Kingairloch Estate, on the Morvern side of Loch Linnhe, with mountains behind it and the loch in front.

Strontian is the nearest village, 13 miles or about 30 minutes away, with a post office, fuel and a shop, and Fort William is 25 miles, an hour to an hour and a half including the Corran Ferry.
