Welcome

Down by the harbour in Lochaline, looking out over the Sound of Mull, the Whitehouse is one of the best reasons to take the long road down Morvern.

Chris and Agi took it over in 2022 after years in boutique hotels and fine dining restaurants across Scotland, with Chris cooking at the Airds in Port Appin and at Greywalls and Chez Roux in Gullane. They call it casual fine dining, and it's in the Michelin Guide. The menu changes every week and is built on what's close to hand: game from Lochaline, beef and lamb from Strontian, meat from Mull and spirits from Drimnin, along with the wild plants the two of them forage themselves. Lunch is à la carte and dinner is a set menu of four courses, served in a cosy white room by the water. It's open from April to October, Tuesday to Saturday, and tables go quickly, so book ahead through its own website or by phone.
