Pomelo
A modern Chinese restaurant on Sciennes Road by the Meadows, opened by chef and owner Jun Au in 2021 and known for its hand-ripped noodles.
Pomelo is a modern Chinese kitchen with a neighbourhood feel, on Sciennes Road a short walk from the Meadows.
Head chef and owner Jun Au opened it in 2021 in a tiny kitchen, and it has since grown into its own room, where the menu changes almost daily. Lunch brings hand-ripped noodles, a fried chicken sandwich in a pineapple bun and garlic-chilli hash browns, with desserts made in the kitchen. On Friday and Saturday evenings dinner turns to sharing plates, with each guest choosing three dishes for the table, and on Sunday there's brunch. Lunch is walk-in only from Wednesday to Saturday, so arrive just before noon with everyone in your party; dinner and Sunday brunch are booked through its own site. The room is small and cosy, with tables close together, and dogs are welcome. It was named among the Good Food Guide's Top 100 Local Restaurants in 2025.
