Tiger Dragon

A small cafe on St Leonard's Street making jian bing, the savoury street pancakes of Tianjin in northern China, open Monday to Saturday.

Call
Welcome

Tiger Dragon is a small, bright yellow cafe on St Leonard's Street that does one thing above all: jian bing, the savoury Chinese pancakes sold from street stalls in Tianjin.

The sign over the door says Chinese Traditional Pancake, and the pancakes are freshly made and folded round their fillings, which makes them perfect for a quick, filling lunch. In 2026 the Good Food Guide picked it out as one of the places to go for lunch in Edinburgh. There's breakfast as well, and you can sit in or take your pancake away. It opens from 10am to 8pm on weekdays and from noon to 8.30pm on Saturdays, and it's closed on Sundays. Holyrood Park is a few minutes' walk east, so take a pancake with you and eat it on the grass below Salisbury Crags, with the whole of Arthur's Seat ahead of you for the afternoon.
