Welcome

Peregrine is a Northern Irish bakery and coffee shop on the Pleasance, on Edinburgh's south side.

It opened as Gorse in April 2026 and now trades under its new name, bringing a taste of home from across the water to the city. Its Tayto pastry, made with Northern Ireland's famous cheese and onion crisps, is one of the reasons the Good Food Guide gives for making the trip. There's coffee to go with it, and breakfast too, so it makes a lovely start to a morning. Sit in, or take your pastry and a cup with you to Holyrood Park, a short walk away, and eat it with Salisbury Crags above you before heading up Arthur's Seat. It's open every day, from 8am to 3pm on weekdays and from 8.30am to 3.30pm at the weekend, so it's one for the morning or an early lunch rather than the afternoon.
