Handsel is an independent gift shop for the home on Leith Walk, behind a bold black and white front, and a lovely place to find a present for somebody, or for yourself.

It opened in September 2020, and its shelves are full of beautiful things: art, homewares, jewellery, cards and a range of zero-waste goods, so there's something for every taste and every budget. The shop shares its address with its sister business, Leith Framing Studio, which has been framing pictures since 2007, and you go through Handsel to reach it. Bring in a print, a poster or a canvas and the framers will help you choose the frame and mount, from natural wood to gilt, while you browse. Framing consultations run Monday to Saturday, and on Sundays the studio is open for collections only. Handsel is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and on Sunday from 11am to 3pm, and it sells online too.
