Welcome

The Wild Scottish Sauna at Forbes of Kingennie is a wood-fired sauna in the grounds of a 150-acre country resort in the Angus countryside, a short drive north-east of Dundee.

It sits beside a spring-fed freshwater loch, with a big window looking out over the water and the rolling hills beyond.

The idea is simple and very old: sit in the fire-heated sauna until you are thoroughly warm, then walk down and plunge into the cold loch, and repeat as often as you like. You can book a social session, sharing the sauna with a few others, or hire it privately for a group, by the hour. Afterwards you can linger at the resort, with breakfast and coffee in the Scullery restaurant, food in the Cairn O'Mount bar and local goods in the Wee Larder, or stay the night in one of its lodges, huts and pods. Bring a towel and something warm for after the dip.
