The Real Wan
A small restaurant on Clincart Road in Mount Florida cooking the spicy food of Guiyang in south-west China, from dumplings to noodles and rice.
There's nothing like finding food you won't come across anywhere else, and The Real Wan brings the cooking of south-west China to Glasgow's South Side.
It's on Clincart Road in Mount Florida, behind a bright orange front with red doors and paper lanterns glowing in the windows, and its sign calls it a South-Western Chinese Street Food Cafe. The cooking follows the style of Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, and much of it comes with a kick of chilli. Order a few dishes for the table and share them: pan-fried pork or prawn dumplings, chunky geda noodles, sticky sweet and sour ribs, and the sour soup rice. There are vegetarian dishes too, and you can take food home if you'd rather eat in. It's a warm, lantern-lit room for a relaxed night out with friends. The Real Wan opens from Thursday to Sunday, from 2pm on Thursday and Friday and from noon at the weekend, until 10.30pm, and you can book a table online.
