Introduction

Hampden Park is Scotland’s national stadium, situated in the Mount Florida area of Glasgow. While also the home ground of Scottish side Queen’s Park, the stadium hosts prestigious fixtures including the Scottish Cup final, Scottish League Cup final, Scotland international matches and has been the venue for three Champions League finals. It was also used for athletics events during the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The current Hampden Park is actually the third iteration of the stadium and opened in 1903 when, at the time, it was the largest stadium in the world. In 1937, Hampden Park achieved its record attendance, which still stands today, of nearly 150,000 for the annual match between Scotland and England.
