Restoration Yard
A shop, coffee bar and restaurant in William Adam's A-listed stables of the 1740s in Dalkeith Country Park, open every day.
Restoration Yard is a shop, coffee bar and restaurant in the old stables of Dalkeith Country Park, just outside Edinburgh, and a good place for a slow morning.
The stable yard was designed by William Adam in the 1740s for the horses and grooms of the estate's guests, and after a careful restoration it opened as Restoration Yard in July 2016.
The Coffee Bar is the easy option, with scones, cakes and traybakes, sandwiches and seasonal soups, and views over to the Orangerie. Across the courtyard, The Kitchen serves breakfast, brunch and lunch every day from 9.30am, with a children's menu too, and it's a good idea to book a table. Leave time for the shop, which is full of clothes, homeware, toys, gifts, and food and drink to take home. Afterwards, the park's woodland trails are right on the doorstep. There are two car parks for visitors, at £4 for the day.

The Coffee Bar is open every day from 9am to 5pm, to sit in or take away.
The Kitchen serves from 9.30am every day, with last orders at 3.45pm, and tables can be booked online or on 0131 322 2572. The shop is open every day from 10am to 5pm. Parking is £4 for the day.
