Welcome

Rising Tide Cafe is a relaxed, licensed cafe on Portobello High Street, a few minutes' walk from the beach, and it's open every day of the year, bank holidays included.

Brunch runs all day, from pancakes to poached eggs, alongside toasted sandwiches, a crispy chicken bun, grazing boards, smaller plates for children and specials that change with the seasons. Scones are the real treat here, baked in all sorts of flavours, with a whole menu of jams to go with them. The coffee is roasted down the road in Portobello by Cairngorm, the pastries and sourdough come from Wild Hearth Bakery, and there are local beers, wines, spritzes and blueberry and ginger kombucha too. There are tables out on the pavement for a sunny morning, dogs are very welcome, and downstairs there's a cosy basement room called Below Deck for groups. It's an easy, friendly stop on the way to or from the promenade.
