Partenope

A bakery café on a corner of Hector Road in Shawlands, with focaccia, pastries and coffee, open every day from breakfast to mid-afternoon.

Welcome

Partenope is the kind of corner café every neighbourhood wishes it had, a bakery and coffee shop on Hector Road in Shawlands, behind a smart green front with its name picked out in gold.

The windows are big and the room is full of light, and there are tables out on the pavement for a dry morning. Focaccia is what brings people back: baked fresh, by the slice or filled as a sandwich, alongside croissants, pastries and cakes, with good coffee to go with them. It serves breakfast, brunch and lunch, and children are made welcome. It opens early, at 7.30am on weekdays and a little later at the weekend, and closes in the middle of the afternoon. Shawlands station is a few minutes' walk away, and Pollok Country Park and the Burrell Collection are close enough to make a lovely morning of it, with a slice of focaccia in your bag for later.
