Marymass Festival

Twelve days, and most of it costs nothing. Marymass opens at Irvine Townhouse at 8.30pm on 13 August 2026, when the Captain of the Irvine Carters' Society is named and the Royal Party sashed. The Festival of Light parade leaves Irvine Cross at 9pm on 15 August, with fireworks on the moor at 9.45pm. Marymass Saturday, 22 August, is the big one: the horse-drawn parade from Golffields Road at 10am, the crowning at the Townhouse at noon, the greasy pole at 2pm, jousting at 2pm and 4pm, and horse racing on Irvine Moor. The Flower Show on 24 August closes it.
