Vikingar, Largs

A leisure centre on the front at Largs with a guided Viking Experience telling the story of the Battle of Largs, a pool, a theatre and a cafe.

Welcome

On the front at Largs, a white building with a round glass drum spelling out VIKINGAR is home to the town's leisure centre and its Viking Experience.

Largs has a special place in Viking history, as the scene of the battle of 1263 against the Norwegian fleet.

The Viking Experience is a guided tour, led by a storyteller who tells of the Vikings and their world. The story is told aloud rather than set out on panels, which suits children.

The centre also has a 25-metre pool with a teaching pool, a gym, an interactive games zone, a cafe, and the Barrfields Pavilion Theatre. Tours run at set times, so check before you go, and Nardini's and the promenade are just outside.

Vikingar is the white building on the Largs seafront with a round glass drum spelling out its name. Alongside the town's leisure centre, it is home to the Viking Experience, a guided tour led by a storyteller rather than set out on panels. It brings the Vikings and the Battle of Largs to life in a way that suits children well. The centre also has a 25-metre pool with a teaching pool, a gym and the Barrfields Pavilion Theatre. Tours run at set times, so check before you go. Nardini's is just outside for an ice cream afterwards.
