Good Press is a bookshop and publisher on St Andrews Street, near Glasgow Cross and the Merchant City, devoted to work that has been self-published or independently published, and it has made and sold such things since 2011.

It works to an open submission policy, so anyone can bring in what they have made, which is why its shelves hold things no chain would ever stock.

The room is packed with blue metal shelving, trestle tables and racks of prints, and one wall is papered floor to ceiling with photographs. Expect artists' books and zines, poetry, photography and small-press writing, from essays on art and anti-ableism to feminist archives, reflections on image generation and art, and calendars by the Dutch designer Karel Martens, alongside prints, posters and T-shirts. There is a monthly package of hand-picked books and zines too. It is close to the galleries and artist-run spaces of the east end. Good Press opens Monday to Saturday from ten until six, and is closed on Sunday.
