Outlier
A bakery and café on London Road between the Trongate and the Barras, with pastries, a creative brunch and lunch menu, and a place among the Good Food Guide's Local Gems.
Outlier is a bakery and café on London Road, where the Trongate gives way to the Barras, and one of the east end's favourite places for breakfast and lunch.
The counter is lined with pastries, from croissants to cinnamon buns, and the kitchen turns out a creative brunch and lunch menu, with seasonal yoghurt bowls, French toast, a daily soup, toasties and hearty sandwiches, and good coffee to go with them. The Good Food Guide names it one of its Local Gems. There are tables inside and a few out on the pavement on a fine day, and it's a lovely place to start a morning at the Barras market round the corner. It opens every day from 8am, or 9am on Sunday, until 4pm from Monday to Thursday and 5pm from Friday to Sunday. Dogs are welcome and there's a children's menu. It's a popular spot, so at the weekend come early or be ready to wait a little for a table.

Open every day for breakfast and lunch.
