Margo

A Merchant City restaurant of sharing plates and bigger dishes for the table, with a kitchen counter, natural wines and a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Welcome

Margo is a restaurant on Miller Street in the Merchant City, with long red leather booths and warm timber walls, and it's one of the loveliest places in the city centre for a long lunch or dinner.

The menu is made for sharing, with small plates such as cured chalkstream trout with tiger milk, Shetland mussels with Breton cider on toast and charred kabocha pumpkin, then bigger dishes like poached hake with Puy lentils, braised feather blade of beef, and a 600g Aberdeen Angus sirloin on the bone for the table. To drink there are cocktails, a freezer martini among them, and a wine list that marks out its natural, organic and biodynamic bottles. The Michelin Guide gives Margo a Bib Gourmand for good cooking at a fair price. Book a table, or a seat at the kitchen counter, through its own site for any day of the week between noon and 10pm. There's a children's menu too, and Sebb's, its basement sister, is just downstairs.
