Gatehouse Cottage stands among the larch and Scots pine of the Aldourie Castle estate near Dores, at the north end of Loch Ness, and it's a small castle of its own, pink-harled with a turret.

The ground floor is one welcoming living and dining room with bookshelves and an open fire, beside a large kitchen full of light. A spiral staircase leads up to two double bedrooms and a bathroom with a freestanding bath looking into the trees, and there's a further shower room too. Outside there's a private garden with a barbecue for summer evenings, and private parking with an EV charger. Take some drinks down to a quiet spot overlooking Loch Ness as the light goes. It sleeps four, and dogs are welcome.

Gatehouse Cottage is on the Aldourie Castle estate by the village of Dores, at the north end of Loch Ness and a short drive south-west of Inverness.

It stands among the trees, with private parking, an EV charger and a private garden with outdoor furniture.

Getting hereAldourie is at the north end of Loch Ness by the village of Dores, a short drive south-west of Inverness. Ivy Cottage is on the road to Dores, opposite the village school; South Bothy is at the end of the castle steadings, with parking nearby.
