Welcome

On the corner of Cumberland Street, in the quiet Georgian streets of the northern New Town, a stone-built bar with its name in gold above the door and a little garden behind iron railings has been a local favourite for years.

The Cumberland is a real neighbourhood bar, busy with locals from the streets around it.

Inside, a long polished wooden bar runs the length of the room under globe lamps, with high stools along it, eight real ale taps and a good range of local and imported beers. The kitchen serves all day, from pub classics such as fish and chips and burgers to a traditional roast on Sundays. Out the back is the beer garden, a secluded spot rare in this part of the city.

The bar opens every day from noon until late, and the kitchen serves until nine, seven on Sundays.
