Welcome

The Broughton calls itself everyone's local, and it lives up to it.

This smart blue-fronted pub on Broughton Street joined the street in 2019, and its cooking has earned it a place in the Michelin Guide for 2026. Drop in for a pint after work, or settle in for a long dinner with a bottle from the wine list or one of its own cocktails. The menu is seasonal, with East of Scotland crab crumpets and steak tartare with brioche to start, then Shetland cod, Highland venison, fish and chips or a dry-aged sirloin to share. On Sundays, from noon until 4pm, it serves a roast that The Times named among the best in the UK, with dry-aged rump of beef, Yorkshire puddings and duck fat roast potatoes. Children under 12 have a menu of their own, and dogs are welcome too. It's open every day, from mid-afternoon in the week and from noon at the weekend, so book a table through its own website, especially for Sunday lunch.
