Lucky Yu

An Asian-inspired restaurant of gyoza, bao and small plates for sharing on Broughton Street, in the Michelin Guide for 2026.

Welcome

Lucky Yu is one of the most fun places to eat on Broughton Street, an Asian-inspired restaurant with small plates made for the middle of the table.

It started out in 2018 as a tiny canteen, and its bigger home here has room to spread out, with a cocktail bar and a choice of spaces, and in 2026 it joined the Michelin Guide. Follow the neon inside and take a seat in the window or up at the counter. The menu runs from gyoza and bao buns to karaage chicken, yakitori and sweets, with wine, sake and cocktails to match. The kitchen buys from local suppliers wherever it can, and the cocktails are made without lemons or limes to cut down on waste. It opens in the evenings from Tuesday to Saturday, with lunch from 1pm on a Saturday, so book a table through its own website, above all at the weekend. Soy and sesame allergies are hard for the kitchen to cater for.
