Welcome

Chez Jules is a cheerful French bistro on Hanover Street, a few minutes' walk from Princes Street.

The set lunch, served every day until 4pm, is great value, with dishes like French onion soup, coq au vin and moules frites over one, two or three courses. In the evening the menu runs through the bistro classics: bavette au poivre, steak with Roquefort, escargots in garlic butter, frogs' legs and a surf and turf with half a Scottish lobster. The steaks are prime Scottish beef, matured for at least 21 days, and there's a wine list to go with them. Expect red-checked tablecloths and a basket of bread on the table, and on the last Thursday of the month there's live music with an accordion. It's open every day from noon until 10pm, or 11pm on Friday and Saturday. Book by phone or email, or just walk in.
