Papii
A brunch cafe on Hanover Street serving breakfast all day, known for its home-made waffles and its Benedicts.
On Hanover Street, a short walk down the hill from George Street, a white-fronted cafe with arched windows has become one of the New Town 's favourite places for a slow breakfast.
Papii serves brunch and coffee, and it serves breakfast all day, every day.
The waffles are what people come back for. They are made in the kitchen from buttermilk batter and piled with toppings, from strawberries and maple syrup to crisp bacon, and they share the menu with Benedicts, cooked breakfasts and a counter of pastries and cakes, with coffee made to order at the bar.
Papii is open every day of the week from nine in the morning, until four on most days and five on Saturdays. It does not take bookings of any kind, so the tables go to whoever arrives first.

Open every day.
Papii does not take bookings: tables are first come, first served.
