Pladda Lighthouse
Introduction
Considered one of the oldest lighthouses in not just Arran, but Scotland, the Pladda Lighthouse is a white tower sitting on the island’s southern tip. Standing at 29m high, the lighthouse was built in 1790 and was the third lighthouse in the country to be given its own distinctive foghorn in 1876.
