Introduction

A Neolithic site on Arran’s west coast, archaeologists believe that the Machrie Moor standing stones were erected between 3500 and 1500 BC. Believed to have been associated with religious ceremonies, the site is available to visit year-round and is cared for by Historic Environment Scotland.
