Welcome

Seafood lovers in Edinburgh knew Ondine for years, and now it has a lovely new home by the sea in St Andrews.

The restaurant is in Seaton House, a hotel on The Scores, with a long marble-topped bar down one side, tables by tall windows on the other, and a view out over the West Sands. The cooking celebrates fish and shellfish from Scotland's east coast with a few flavours from further afield, so the fish soup comes with saffron, orange and a harissa rouille, and the crab risotto with Spanish saffron and tarragon. Scottish beef, simply grilled, sits alongside the seafood too. Pull up a stool at the bar for oysters, with an oyster happy hour from 4pm to 5pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Ondine is in the Michelin Guide. Dinner is served from Tuesday to Sunday, with lunch on Sundays from noon, and it's closed on Mondays, so book a table through Seaton House.
