Welcome

Behind a doorway on Market Street, Forgan's fills a long, skylit building that was once a cleek factory, where some of the finest golf clubs in the world were made.

It takes its name from Robert Forgan, the clubmaker who ran it.

Today it is a restaurant and bar with a warm, rustic feel: long tables under walls lined with shelves of books, bottles and old pictures, and small private dining rooms called bothies. The menu leans on good Scottish produce, from the grill to seasonal plates, and the bar is a lively place for a drink.

On Saturday nights the tables are pushed back for a ceilidh, from ten o'clock until late, with free entry, and anyone can join the dancing. It opens every day from half past eleven until late in the evening.
