The R&A World Golf Museum

The museum of golf at St Andrews, beside the Old Course, telling over 400 years of the game through thousands of objects, with a putting green inside.

Welcome

St Andrews is the home of golf, and beside the Old Course, on Bruce Embankment, the R&A World Golf Museum tells the story of the game.

Its galleries cover more than four hundred years, from the earliest days on the links of Scotland to the great champions of today.

Thousands of objects fill the rooms: old clubs and balls, trophies and medals, clothing and memorabilia of the great players, and the stories of the people behind them. A wall of bronze faces honours the champions, and a bronze statue of a golfer stands among displays of clubs. Visitors can dress up in old golfing clothes and try a putt on the museum's own green.

The museum opens every day, and tickets can be booked ahead.

Hidden Scotland, the magazine

Scotland, in print.

We want to show you the best that Scotland has to offer. The makers and the creatives, the enduring experiences, the evocative tales, the concealed corners. The roads less travelled that take you to places that matter. The adventures that gather you up and sweep you away. The blend of the wild and the artistic that makes Scotland what it is. We’d love for you to join us.
