Scottish Gliding Centre

Air experience flights in two-seat gliders from Portmoak on the shore of Loch Leven, over the hills and lochs of Perthshire and Fife.

At Portmoak Airfield, on the eastern shore of Loch Leven near Kinross, the Scottish Gliding Centre offers the chance to fly without an engine.

Gliders ride the same rising currents of air that birds use, at around seventy miles an hour.

An air experience flight puts you in a two-seat glider with an experienced pilot, soaring out over the hills and lochs of Perthshire and Fife. These flights run on selected evenings from mid-April to mid-September, and mini courses run through the year for anyone who wants to learn more.

The centre says that age and physical ability are no barrier, and it is home to the Walking On Air charity, which helps people with disabilities to fly. Flights and vouchers are booked ahead.
