Loch Leven's Larder
A farm shop, food hall and two cafés on Channel Farm, on the north side of Loch Leven near Kinross, opened by the Niven family in 2005.
There's a lovely view of Loch Leven from Loch Leven's Larder, a farm shop and café on the north side of the loch, about ten minutes from Kinross.
The Niven family opened it in 2005 on Channel Farm, which their family has farmed since 1934, and vegetables still go straight from the field to the kitchen. The food hall, bakery and deli is the heart of it, with salads made by the Larder's own chefs, its much-loved sausage rolls, seasonal fruit and vegetables, and 20 to 30 cheeses, many of them Scottish, such as Strathdon Blue and Clava. There's a good shelf of Scottish gin, whisky, craft beer and cider too, and two gift shops, one of them the design-led 1848 store. Stop for lunch in the Larder Café or the Greenhouse Café, and let the children loose in the play park. The Loch Leven Heritage Trail starts from the top of the car park, and dogs are welcome outside and at the Canopy Café.
