Welcome

South Queensferry has the Forth Bridge, and anyone who loves a good pastry will tell you it has Dune Bakery too.

This small bakery on the High Street fills its counter every morning with tall, glossy croissants, pains au chocolat and pain suisse, twists of cinnamon, pistachio or custard with cardamom, and cruffins filled with custard. At lunchtime there's thick focaccia, split and filled as sandwiches, and good coffee, hot or iced, to go with it all. There's often a queue, but it moves quickly, and there are benches nearby looking out over the water to the bridges, which makes a lovely spot to eat them. At the weekend you can pre-order a collection box through its own website and pick up a whole selection at once. It opens at 9am and closes at 3pm, so make it a morning stop on a day out by the Forth.
