Welcome

There's something about a punnet of Scottish strawberries in high summer, and Blacketyside has been growing them on the coast road just east of Leven for more than thirty years.

The family brought their pedigree cattle over from Northern Ireland when they bought the farm in 1992, found ten acres of strawberries and raspberries already in the ground, and took to fruit farming. Today the strawberries ripen in heated polytunnels from late March to November, joined in season by raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and gooseberries, all sold in the farm shop. You'll also find the farm's own potatoes and carrots, and jams, custard biscuits, jam tarts and scones from its own kitchen and bakehouse, along with ready meals like steak pie. The Buffalo Farm runs the butcher's counter, and there's a florist, plants, gifts and cards. Children have a big fort and a playground outside, and there's easy parking right by the door.
