Leven Beach

A long sandy beach at Leven on Largo Bay in Fife, with a promenade, rock pools, seals at low tide and summer lifeguards, by a new railway station.

Welcome

Holidaymakers have been coming to Leven Beach since Victorian times, and with a new railway station opened in 2024 they are coming again.

The beach is a long stretch of sand sweeping east along Largo Bay towards Lundin Links, with Largo Law rising behind it.

At low tide there are rock pools to explore and seals to spot on the rocks; at high tide it is a popular place for a swim, and RNLI lifeguards watch over the sands in summer. Behind the beach runs a long, flat promenade with green space and picnic tables looking out over the Firth of Forth, a skatepark, a play park, an outdoor gym and an old-fashioned putting green, freshly restored.

The Fife Coastal Path runs along the shore, the town centre and bus station are close by, and the beach has won a Scotland's Beach Award for 2026.
