Welcome

There's a lovely sense of escape at this little restaurant on the harbour at St Monans.

Most of the tables look out across the water, over the Firth of Forth to the Isle of May, the Bass Rock and the hills by North Berwick on a clear day, and in summer there's a terrace outside. Craig Millar, who was born in Dundee, has run it as his own restaurant since 2011, and it has been in the Michelin Guide for many years. His cooking is modern and Scottish, with seafood at its heart and local produce through the seasons: lunch is a set menu of three or four courses, and dinner of five or six. In winter the bar is cosy, with a fire and the look of an old fisherman's pub. Book online, allow a couple of hours for lunch, and arrange a taxi both ways if you'd rather not drive. Children aged five and over are welcome, and dinner is best for over twelves.
