Nicholson's Sweets & Ice Cream
A traditional sweet and ice cream shop on the shore at Pittenweem, on the Fife Coastal Path, with over 200 kinds of sweets and twelve flavours of ice cream.
On the shore at Pittenweem, where the Fife Coastal Path runs past the harbour, a little shop with a purple front and a giant ice cream cone outside the door has been selling sweets for more than thirty years.
Inside, the walls are lined from floor to ceiling with jars. There are over two hundred kinds of sweets, including sugar-free ones, sticks of Scottish rock and boxes of Edinburgh Rock, tablet, chocolate and fudge in flavours such as whisky and sea-salted caramel.
The ice cream comes from Jannetta's of St Andrews, twelve flavours and a lemon sorbet, served in tubs, cones, wafer oysters and waffles, just right for a walk along the harbour. The shop opens from February to November, weather permitting, and it is sensible to phone ahead early and late in the season.

Open February to November, weather permitting: from 11am daily, until 5.30pm on weekdays and 7pm at weekends and in July and August.
