The Wake Yard, Glasgow

In short

Things to do, and a good many of them are saunas. There is one on a boat moored at Taymouth Marina on Loch Tay, a wood-fired mobile one at Rosemarkie Beach on the Black Isle, the first and only one on Mull, and Stravaig running hour-long sessions on Royal Deeside. Escape Sauna sits above Quarrel Sands near North Berwick. Beyond those it gets stranger: SnoutAbout is a two-hour pig walking experience in woodland outside Dundee. You can glide above Loch Leven from Scotlandwell, eFoil beneath the Forth Bridges near South Queensferry, or surf at the Lost Shore just outside Edinburgh. There are boats for hire on Loch Lomond, on Loch Goil, and at Salen Bay on Mull. Most of this shelf is weather-dependent, and the saunas least of all.

Scotland's only urban cable wakeboard park, on the canal at Port Dundas five minutes from the city centre, with coached sessions for beginners and ringo rides. From our write-up of The Wake Yard
