Skua
A small, intimate restaurant on the lower level of St Stephen Street in Stockbridge, with a daily menu of sharing plates and a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
On the lower level of St Stephen Street, behind a black front with its name in red neon, Skua is one of the cosiest places to eat in Stockbridge.
It's a small and intimate restaurant with a small menu to match, and that's the whole idea: the kitchen cooks what is best that day from the local farmers, fishermen and foragers it works with, so the menu changes daily. Expect big, balanced flavours on plates made for sharing, so order a few and pass them round the table. The cocktails are made in the same spirit, with house-made syrups and ferments from Scotland's own larder, and there's a good list of natural wines too. The Michelin Guide gives Skua a Bib Gourmand for good cooking at a fair price. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday, from 5pm to 10pm, and the bar stays open later, until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.
