Welcome

Clermount Cottage was built in 1874 for the gamekeeper of the Penicuik Estate in Midlothian, where the Clerk family have lived since 1654.

Restored for two, it's hung with art and furniture from Old Penicuik House, and it mixes period character with calm colours. There's a sitting room with a wood-burner, a terracotta kitchen, a super-king bedroom with sweeping views and a roll-top bath. Outside, among old trees and parkland, there's a terrace with an outdoor wood-burner, a Big Green Egg and a cedar hot tub. Dogs are welcome.
