Introduction

Sitting at the base of the Pentland Hills, the Harlaw Reservoir was first designed in the 1840s to service the City of Edinburgh and its surrounding villages. Nowadays, the countryside surrounding the reservoir is popular with dog walkers and cyclists, with plenty of trails available for hiking.
