Welcome

Down a few steps from St Stephen Street in Stockbridge, the Last Word is a small basement bar away from the bustle of the city centre.

It opened in 2012, made by Jason Scott and Mike Aikman, the pair behind Bramble, one of Edinburgh's best-known cocktail bars.

The room is low and softly lit, with candles on the tables, leather armchairs and an open fire in the colder months, and a long bar backed with bottles glowing under warm lights. The cocktails are made with the same care and craft as at Bramble, and whisky is the other great love here, with more than a hundred single malts on the shelves and plenty of help to choose one. Dogs are welcome to curl up by the fire.

The Last Word opens every evening until late. Tables can be booked by email or on 0131 225 9009.
