Restaurant Andrew Fairlie
A two Michelin-starred restaurant inside the Gleneagles hotel near Auchterarder, cooking in the French way with the best of Scottish produce since 2001.
There are special dinners, and then there is a night at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie.
Tucked away inside the Gleneagles hotel near Auchterarder, it opened in 2001 and has held two Michelin stars for longer than any other restaurant in Scotland. Andrew Fairlie's idea still runs through every course: the classic French cooking he loved, made with the very best of Scotland's produce, in a room that feels special without ever being stuffy. Stephen McLaughlin, his long-time protégé, has led the kitchen since 2019. Much of what reaches your plate is grown in the restaurant's own Victorian walled garden, from vegetables and salads to herbs and edible flowers. Choose three or four courses from the à la carte, or settle in for the seven-course dégustation, with vegetarian versions of both and wine flights to match. It's open for dinner every evening of the week. Book well ahead through its own website, where a waiting list is kept for cancellations.
