Introduction

With an ever-changing collection of books, the Innerpeffray Library is a historic part of Scotland’s history as its first-ever lending library. Established in 1680 in a church attic, then moved to a dedicated building in the late 1700s, the surviving building is Category A Listed and has an astounding collection of rare and historic books to view.
