Welcome

Wild Hearth is a wood-fired sourdough bakery at Comrie, and its shop on Drummond Street is the place to buy straight from the source.

The baking happens a mile or so away at Cultybraggan, in a restored Second World War Nissen hut, where the oven is fired with waste wood from timber milling and takes twelve hours to heat up from cold. Founder John Castley and his bakers use organic flours and wild starters, and almost everything they make is sourdough, even the croissants. The shop's shelves hold the full range of loaves, the counter is lined with sourdough pastries, and there's good coffee and cold drinks to go with them. The bakery has won gold medals at the Scottish Bread Championships year after year, and it's one of the Good Food Guide's 50 best bakeries for 2026. The shop opens from Wednesday to Saturday, 8am to 3pm.
