From Friday the 12th to Sunday the 14th of September 2025, Fort William hosts Lochaber Live at An Aird Shinty Field. The music festival stages evening sets by leading Scottish folk acts—Cara Dillon, Flook, Breabach, Mànran, Trail West and others—on Friday and Saturday, with Sunday offering a free community day featuring a live broadcast of Take the Floor and performances by local dance bands. The event revives a Highland tradition first staged in the 1980s and is part of a wave celebrating local music and culture. Organised by musician and broadcaster Gary Innes, the festival combines headline shows with family-friendly programming and regional pride.
